Patchcord (the connection cable) single-mode with a length of 20 meters and a diameter of 3 mm, terminated with SC/UPC-SC/APC connectors, is used for the network connection of optical equipment such as switches or converters. Patchcords are also widely used in FTTH networks to connect OLT and ONU/ONT type devices. These cables have a material classification LSZH (Low Smoke Zero Halogen), which means that their sheath is made of thermoplastic or thermosetting compounds, which, under the influence of heat, emit a limited amount of smoke and do not emit halogen.
